Michael J. Giannetta has over twenty years of experience in all areas of intellectual property law, including patent, trademark, copyright and related issues. Most recently, Mr. Giannetta has concentrated on complex intellectual property transactions including intellectual property licensing and litigation settlement agreements. In addition, Mr. Giannetta also concentrates on patent prosecution, counseling, litigation and licensing issues.

Mr. Giannetta’s patent experience encompasses a diverse mix of technologies including computer hardware and software, telecommunications equipment and systems, Internet and business methods, automotive technology, consumer electronics, wireless communications technology and medical devices.

Mr. Giannetta has drafted and prosecuted countless original patent applications, as well as prosecuted many global patent applications. He supports all phases of patent litigation from the filing of the complaint through the appeals process. Mr. Giannetta also counsels clients on matters such as the development of intellectual property policies and procedures. He also drafts freedom to operate, infringement and validity opinions, and conducts due diligence with respect to the acquisition of entities or assets and the licensing-in of technology.
